- Set includes: [1] 4 brown-toned prints, exterior views, by "W.N. Jennings, photography,45 South 17th Street, Phila.", labelled Erlanger Theatre, Hoffman-Henon Co., architects, and dated Mar.-June 1927. These items have numbers 1616, 2192(2), & 2199, and additional numbers in red ink, 11-14. [2] 4 b&w prints, interior views, by "Joseph N. Pearce, photographer, 5302 Pine Street, Philadelphia, Pa." These items have Pearce numbers 15367,15369, 15371, 15372, and also numbers in red ink 276-277 & 281-282. [3] 1 unidentified b&w print, probably of a drawing in a book, showing a rendered street scene with figures & automobiles, ca. 1920's. [4] 1 unidentified b&w snapshot, with auto ca. 1950s(?) [5] 4 unidentified b&w snapshots, exterior, with autos ca. 1960's. [6] 1 col. snapshot, "21 & Mkt, Phila., Nov. '71"--verso, showing marquees. [7] 52 col. shapshots, Kodak date Oct. '78, showing the demolition of the structure.
- Jennings 1927 photographs show the building in construction. A sign on the structure reads: Philadelphia finest theatre, "The Erlanger". The building will be devoted to the class of attraction seen always at the Forrest Theatre. Messrs. A.L. Erlanger - C.B. Dillingham, and the Stanley Company of America, John J. McQuirk, Pres." Above this sign, in separate photos, are construction firm signs for: [1] P.H. Kelly Co., Inc., Press Bldg., Phila., Pa. [2] Belmont Iron Works ... structural steel. A partially visible sign on the earliest photo includes "This site ... Stanley ... Mastbaum Bros. & Fleish ..."
