These items have dates from Dec. 16, 1922 to Aug. 23, 1923. Most are numbered. [2] 32 items with verso stamp "Joseph N. Pearce, photographer, 5302 Pine Street, Philadelphia, Pa.", with photographers numbers. These items also have numbers in red ink. One item only has hand-written date "1924". [3] 1 item, ca. 1940's, Market] Street scene, with "Johnny Angel" showing on marquee. [4] 1 item, with verso notes "Dec. 1945, Bill Baxter" and "For duplicates, Arrow Photo Service 6142 Locust Street, Phila., 39, Pa. [5] "Earle" marquee, with "High wall" showing. Date stamped on verso Mar. 5, 1953.
Glazer, Philadelphia theatres, A-Z, gives "Elrae" as an alternative name for the theater, and the architects, Hoffman and Henon. The theater opened in Mar. 1924 and was demolished July 1953.
