- Ballinger log book 1, p. 84 lists photo numbers 874-877, 923-925, 935, 1176 (absent), and 1257-1258 for this building. Log book 1, p. 165, lists photo no. 1570(1912) as the "Exterior of the old front, 1004 Race". Photo number 816, not given in the log, is a photo of an architectural drawing, from which the title data is taken. Another photo of a drawing, no. 846, shows a visually similar building identified as "The new home of the Lester piano / Ballinger and Perrot, architects." The log book, p. 84 and photos identify the correct address as 1306 Chestnut St. Numerous other buildings are identified in the signs shown in the photos throughout this set.
