Ballinger log book 2, p. 114 lists photo numbers 2639-2641 for the Niessen Building at 1209 Arch St. Log book 1, p. 112 has the entry "Leo &Arthur A. Niessen, 12th & Race Sts." Cataloged separately, the photos in Log book 1 are for a new 9-story structure, which may also be called the "Niessen Building". Photo no. 1325 of that record shows a sign "For rent ... Ready Aug. 1st, 1911. Apply to Niessen, 1209 Arch St.", indicating the the Niessen organization occupied the building illustrated in this record at the time the 9-story building was in construction. The Arch St. building, in Nov. 1917, shows the names of occupants: [1] Milton & Radley Company and [2] Starr Sales Co., along with a rental sign "This modern building, all conveniences, for rent, ...divide [Ferdi(?)]nand D. Fleming, ... Broad & Chestnut Sts."
