Ballinger log book 3, p. 31 lists photo no. 3677. This is a streetscene, possibly to document some architectural structure or site of interest to the Ballinger Company. Date is estimated at 1922 from neighboring photos. The photo mainly depicts a modern single-level shopping center ona corner site. Included are a furrier, florist, tailor, hardware store, meat market & "Busy Bee" eggs & butter. Also a sign reads "For information regarding erection of a theatre on this property, inquire of L.J. Phillips & Co., 148 W. 72nd St." Building side ads include Camel Cigarettes, Good Luck Margarine, and Coca Cola.
