- Ballinger log book 2, p. 25 lists photo numbers 3033, 3153, 3155, 3170 and 3195. Log book 2, p. 174 lists photo nos. 3390, 3392, 3424-3425, 3427 & 3443-3444 and p. 175 lists nos. 3485 and 3791. Photo nos. 3033 & 3051 are architectural drawings, renderings of the front elevation of the proposed building. Photo no. 3791 is a photo of the completed building, referred to in the log book as "Hillcrest Hall". Most entries for the other photos, which document the progress toward the completion of the building, call the building the "Girls' Hotel." Photo no. 3424 includes construction signs for: [1] Ballinger & Perrot ... [2] D.J. Phipps, constructor & builder, Roanoke, Va.
- Photographs of the addition to the Roanoke plant, built around this same time period, are cataloged separately. The bird's-eye views of the Viscose Co. complex included with this project do not show Hillcrest Hall, which may be up on the hill from which the photograph was taken.
