Development of the Marcus Hook site was begun by Courtauld & Co. in 1910, as documented by the Ballinger Collection. Included at this site were factory buildings, the Dining Hall documented in this record, a dispensary, a small store, and the "Industrial Village," which included a variety of worker housing located cross the Philadelphia & Wilmington Post Road. Photos of other buildings at the Marcus Hook site, or at other sites, under the earlier company name "Samuel Courtauld & Co.", or later company name Viscose Co.", are cataloged separately.
