Notes:
The majority of drawings in this set are labelled "House no. 124, Ardmore, Pa. / Durham & Irvine, Philadelphia, Pa." Many drawings are unlabelled. Some have only "Durham & Irvine" but no house identification. Some have pencil notes "McMichael".
House no. 124 is shown in Durham's List of numbered houses gives two different clients: [1] Harrison McMichael [2] C. Wanton Balis. Drawing dates, client names on drawings for these date, and manuscript documentation suggest that McMichael was the original client, with the earliest evidence of Balis ownership with the 1943 alterations. The Balis house is cataloged separately both for the Durham collection and also in a gift from Mrs. Balis. Documents from the Balis drawings time period & from Durham's list give the address as Righters Mill Rd. at Greaves Lane, Gladwyne, Pa. The Ardmore location may be generic to Durham & Irvine original drawings, or the subdivisioning may have changed the location later. Later project drawings show Durham's name alone.
Subcontractor drawings are also included for: [1] Warm air conditioning system for House #124, Ardmore, Penna., Durham & Irvine, Builders / James Spear Stove & Htg. Co., 1823 Market St., Phila., Pa.
