Meigs property account book final entry is headed "Items of cost in connection with alteration and furnishing of room, Third Floor Back, 1322 Walnut Street, A.I. Meigs." Entry is dated in pencil 1924-1925. Among the numerous items of furniture listed is a chess table, to be supplied by John A. Dubs.
A 1935 entry in firm account book [2] "I-M" is entitled "Alterations to 1322 Walnut Street" for Dr. Edward B. and Arthur I. Meigs." The body of the entry states that this property was leased to Rosenbach Galleries for a term of 5 year and 3 months from June 1st, 1935.
Based upon the information from the Meigs property account book and firm account book, it is most likely that this property, which probably served as a part-time residence for Arthur I. Meigs and his brother Dr. Edward B. Meigs, was located on Walnut Street in Philadelphia, rather than Radnor, as identified in Laverty.
Forms part of: Meigs, Arthur I. The Arthur I. Meigs collection of architectural graphics & records, including works from the offices of Mellor & Meigs (1906-1916), Mellor, Meigs & Howe (1916-1928), and Mellor & Meigs (1928-1940).
