This set includes drawings MAM*015*021-022 listed in Laverty, and MAM*019*001-002, not listed in Laverty. Other drawings from set MAM*015/036 are cataloged separately.
Title from MAM*015*022.
Three drawings in this set were sketched on the back of scrap blueprint paper, with the fourth drawing sketched on lined legal notebook paper. It is presumed that Meigs, who was retired to Radnor as of Oct. 1941 per drawing MAM*015*020, made these sketches himself.
Placement of the two sets together is based upon the visual evidence represented by the similarity of images, showing the same site plan on Conestoga Road with a service court. However, in the MAM*019/002 drawings, which bear no date, the proposed structure is called the "Dower House", while in the MAM*015 drawings, the structure is referred to as "The Pyramids of Ithan." This later name has been used in the devised title, due to the more formal nature of the title and the images.
Forms part of: Meigs, Arthur I. The Arthur I. Meigs collection of architectural graphics & records, including works from the offices of Mellor & Meigs (1905-1915), Mellor, Meigs & Howe (1916-1927), and Mellor & Meigs (1928-1940).
