Notes:
Eight drawings, including two sections showing the furnace & mechanical systems, have been identified visually to create this set. The set has been attributed to Gardiner by Laverty, but no identification is given on the drawings. Only drawing GAR*004*002 provides clues to the building location and possible clients. This drawing is a plan for the "Basements," which is the main access level to the building. The leftmost of the four buildings has room labels "hall, office, water closet, store rooms, butlers pantry, dinning[sic] room, pantry". The unit to the immediate right shows a formal label crossed out "D.D. Lord's House". The third unit has a pencil label "D.D. Lords house". The fourth house is unlabelled. An ink note in the left margin appears to read "D.D. Lord [or Love], 19th". This note appears to be in the same hand as labels on other drawings in this collection identified as Gardiner's work. Several other housing sets for the area of 19th St. between 6th & 7th Ave., apparently in Manhattan, New York, N.Y., are included in this archival collection, cataloged separately.
Forms part of: New York and New Jersey architecture collection.
