- Each number has engraved t.p., with vignette. The music is engraved.
- No. 1-6 have imprint: Dublin, W. Power; London, J. Power. No. 7-9 by J. Power, London. No. 9 was published in 1821; no. 10, with a supplement, appeared in 1834. cf. S. J. Brown, Guide to books on Ireland, Dublin [etc.] 1912, p. 117.
- The melodies were collected by Thomas Moore, who then wrote poems to fit them.
- From 1808 James Power, in London, and his brother William Power, in Dublin, jointly published the first six numbers of Irish Melodies. In 1815, after the sixth number, James sought to deny William the right to publish further numbers. William nonetheless issued a Dublin edition of the 7th number in 1818. James Power continued publishing the authorized edition from London, concluding in 1834 with number 10 and a supplement. In 1821 William Power published a pirated edition of the eighth number.
