- Notes:
- "This discourse was written amidst the pressure of other duties of an exciting and annoying character. It was delivered with fear and trembling, because I felt I was touching subjects of great importance, but on which good men might differ. In my own opinion, it has little to recommend. I was gratified to find that it was heard with marked atttention; and I now publish it, in compliance with the request of eminent Brethren, whose opinion and judgment I highly respect." Aghadowey, 18th July, 1845.
