- The abridged text of Vitruvius' "De architectura" is by Claude Perrault based on his complete translation first published in 1673; Perrault is named only in the privilege on last page.
- Running title: Abregé des Vitruve.
- Fowler copy reports frontispiece with date 1691 is a reduced copy of that in the 1673 folio edition, and is mounted on the verso of the front flyleaf and is not included in the pagination or signatures.
- The engravings follow main text and are reduced copies of some of the plates by Sebastien Le Clerc from the 1673 folio edition. Cf. Fowler.
