- The number of plates varies, seventy-three in George III's copy in the BL is the greatest number found. The first of the two plates numbered 56, is a dedication to the late Duke of Northumberland.
- Some of the 1792 plates were issued from no. 16 Broad Stree, Golden Square.
- Pergolesi was an Italian designer, painter, and engraver of 'Antique' ornament, who came to England in 1760 at the invitation of Robert Adam. Not only did he collaborate with Adam, Chambers and other architects on interior decorations, he also taught every branch of modern ornaments, designs, paintings, etc. Cf. Harris and Savage, p. 368.
