Summary:
"The author was a Philadelphia girl who lived during the Victorian era. She relates the memories of her youth and early life with lively observation of the world around her. In 1932 when she was sixty-three years old, a severe heart attack resulted in her becoming a semi-invalid. While in bed, she began to write these Memories of another day, recalling only her pleasant experiences. Sh died in 1941, when she was seventy-two years of age. Her references to some minority groups may seem offensive to modern day readers, but are simply personal comments which reflect opinions of the times"-- Preface.
