- The trial of Lizzie Andrew Borden of Fall River, Massachusetts, charging her with the murders on August 4th, 1892, of her stepmother, Abby Durfee Borden, and her father, Andrew Jackson Borden, was held before the Superior court for the county of Bristol, sitting at New Bedford; Chief Justice Albert Mason, Associate Justice Caleb Blodgett and Associate Justice Justin Dewey, 3d, presiding. The case opened June 5th, 1893 and on June 20th, 1893 the court rendered a verdict of not guilty.
