A "Supplement to the Boston Independent chronicle," numbers 705, Feb. 28, 1782, was printed by Benjamin Franklin as a hoax, at his press in Passy, France. The spurious issue, of which there were two editions, was dated Mar. 20, 1782 in a Boston date-line. Cf. Brigham.
