- North, possibly a Quartermaster in General George Washington's army, records amounts paid for supplies such as the purchase of hay, horses, oxen, carts, and horse shoes. Also records payment for services, such as for driving oxen. The first entries were made at Peekskill; subsequent locations include White Plains, Fishkill, and Continental Village, New York; Stamford and New Canaan, Connecticut; Morristown and Bound Brook, New Jersey; and others.
