Summary:
The first part of the manuscript (p. [1-80]) consists chiefly of provision returns made by Quartermaster William Sawyer for Col. Parks [id est Parker] and then Col. Brewer, at New York, 16 Aug. 1776-18 Dec. 1776. There is also a return of the prisoners taken from General Washington, 1776. Entries from pages [81] onwards are William Sawyer's accounts,10 July 1780-21 July 1792, after he returned to civilian life in Haverhill, Mass.
