It includes acts of parliament relating to the governance of incorporated companies, loans to the New Zealand Company, the transfer of certain financial powers to the Company and the governance of New Zealand colonies. The Canterbury Association is mentioned, as is a new representative constitution for the colony of New Zealand. At the back of the document the charter of incorporation for the New Zealand Company is printed.
- Notes:
- The New Zealand Company was a chartered company formed in 1839 and incorporated in 1841 with power to buy, sell, settle and cultivate land in New Zealand. It did not prove a satisfactory agency for colonising New Zealand and was induced to surrender its charters in 1850. It was finally dissolved in 1858.
