- A civil engineer by profession and a frequent contributor of articles to the Italian American magazine La Controcorrente (Boston, Massachusetts) during and after World War II, David Yona (1901-1971) was born in Iurea, in northern Italy. He and Anna (Foa) Yona were married in 1932 in Turin; they came to the United States in 1940, and lived in New York City.
