Summary:
Description: Arnold talks about school days, the bus the children used to use and the traditional breads and biscuits made at the bakery. He describes the flu edidemic during the First World War, the Chisholm fire and the blueberries which grew in abundance afterwards. He also talks about agricultural work, saunas, how the Depression affected families and the food made by his parents.
Notes:
Begun in 1979 and completed in 1984, the Minnesota Finnish American Family History Project had as its purpose the documentation of the personal histories and experiences of Minnesota Finnish Americans. The Project was sponsored by the Minnesota Finnish American Historical Society and the Iron Range, St. Louis County, and Otter Tail Historical Societies.
