From the copyright page - "The Museum of Navajo Ceremonial Art, architecturally an interpretation in modern form of the Navajo Ceremonial Hogan, is designed for the exhibition of sand paintings, and as a repository for the myths, music, poetry, sacred lore and objects connected with Navajo religion, the intention being to perpetuate, for the general public, for research students, and for the Indians themselves, this great example of a people's spiritual culture."
