Summary:
This book is a volume in a series of original chapters on all aspects of ancient philosophy. The chapters include critical notices of major books. The series is published twice yearly. The series, which presents itself more as an anthology than as a journal, has traditionally allowed space for lengthier studies. It allows as much space as the merits of the subject require and it is devoted to the best and most serious scholarship. Volume 48 contains three chapters on Plato and four on Aristotle.

Plato on the Pleasures and Pains of Knowing; Change in Aristotle's Physics 3; Separability vs. Difference: Parts and Capacities of the Soul in Aristotle; Essence and per se Predication in Aristotle's Metaphysics ?[sub(4)]; Form and Inheritance in Aristotle's Embryology; Aristotelian Philia, Modern Friendship?; Sensation and Scepticism in Plotinus; Aiming and Determining: A Discussion of Iakovos Vasiliou, Aiming at Virtue in Plato; Index Locorum
