- Summary:
- The development of theories that link structure, material properties, and fluid flow to the secular variations of the seismic cycle is in its infancy. The importance of this linkage provided the motivation for a conference "Fluid Flow, Material Transfer and Deformation in the Forearcs of Convergent Margins" in 2012, and this volume was created for that conference. It describes two field trips, to the Ligurides and the Alpi Apuane.

- Preface
- Deformation, fluid flow, and mass transfer in the forearc of convergent margins: a two-day field trip in an ancient and exhumed erosive convergent margin in the northern Apennines / Francesca Remitti, Giuseppe Bettelli, Filippo Panini, Mirko Carlini, and Paola Vannucchi
- Deformation and fluid flow during underplating and exhumation of the Adria continental margin: a one-day trip in the Alpi Apuane (northern Apennines, Italy) / Giancarlo Molli.
