Summary:
Instruction et confession de foy dont on use en l'Eglise de Genève is a abridged version of L'Institution de la religion chrétienne of 1536, an explanation given both in Latin and in Calvin's own translation of three major texts of the Christian faith: the Ten Commandments, the Creed and the Our Father. The second part of the book provides three texts that Calvin wrote in 1537. Accused of Arianism, Calvin first composed a declaration of faith which was read before the Lausanne synod in May 1537. Calvin was forced to write two more short texts before his orthodoxy was recognized in Bern in 1537.
