Translation of the anonymous "L'inconnue, histoire véritable," which attempted to prove that the mysterious refugee at Bristol was Felix-Julienne de Schönau, otherwise Frëulen, who declared herself to be the natural daughter of Emperor Francis I.
"This narrtive is a faithful abstract of the twenty-four examinations which M. de Cobenzel's nephew, the Count de Coroniny, who himself was present during all of them, communicated to the author."--P. 76.
Includes the preface and introduction to first edition signed "Philalethes" and the dedication to Miss Hannah More, all dated 1785, and the advertisement to the second edition, dated "Hanwell Rectory, February 27, 1801."
Appendices, p. [77]-111, include notices of Louisa's death on Dec. 19, 1800.
