Summary:
This memoir describes the life of a Jewish boy born in 1941 in Slonim, Poland (Belarus), shortly after the German occupation of Poland and the Nazi liquidation of the Jewish community. The boy's parents gave him away to a Catholic orphanage and were killed after they joined the partisans' resistance movement. The boy was sheltered by a Polish family and later adopted by his uncle and aunt. This book also contains the memoirs of the boy's aunt, who survived the war by escaping to Russia.--Publisher description.
