Cataloged from imperfect copy: gatherings 2q and 2r only (leaf 2r6 mutilated with loss of woodcut printer's device and portion of colophon). Title, statement of responsibility and imprint information from colophon as transcribed by GW; first lines of text from leaf 2a2r as transcribed by GW. Signature statement and foliation from BSB-Ink. Walsh notes that the first and last leaves are blank, but the last leaf is in fact printed on the recto.
Third volume of a six-volume set of Niccolò de' Tudeschi's commentaries on the Decretales Gregorii IX, the whole printed by Andreas Torresanus de Asula (using the types of Nicolas Jenson) in Venice, 1482-1483.
Colophon on leaf 2r6r reads: Exactu[m] hoc opus videlicet s[e]c[un]da pars secu[n]di decretaliu[m] libri Nicolai siculi inclytis i[n]strumentis famosisq[ue] characteribus optime quonda[m] in hac arte magistri Nicholai Ienson gallici quo nihil p[re]stantius nihil melius nihilue dignius. Castigatu[m] vero h[ab]es adeo vt nihil sit ex omni [par]te addendu[m]. Cura[m] vero ac dilige[n]tia[m] adhibuit optimus vir Andreas de asula Venetijs olympiadibus d[omi]nicis a[n]no videlicet. Super-royal folio, printed in double columns. Leaf 2q1r: 69 lines to a full column, plus headline; area of text: 318 (331) x 195 mm.; col. width: 85 mm. Initial spaces, most with guide letters; spaces for paragraph marks. With signatures and catchwords; without foliation. Woodcut printer's device in red on leaf 2r6r.
