Summary:
A black, leather-bound volume containg a typescript inventory of Fulford Hall in York, North Yorkshire, England owned by Ewdard Vyvyan Ford. The title on the front cover of the volume is stamped in gold letters. Ford was managing director of the Leeds and Wakefield Brewries, also known as Melbourne Brewery, in Leeds. He was married to May Wingfield and the couple had two children. A title page and index comprise the first three leaves, followed by leaves numbered one to ninety-five. The inventory of Fulford is chiefly arranged by room. There are forty-two rooms represented appearing on leaves one to sixty-nine. The rooms include bedrooms, dressing rooms, a kitchen, a dining room, cloakrooms, servants rooms, bathrooms, boxrooms, and storerooms. Other rooms of note include the attic, wine cellars, and a coal cellar. In addition to the rooms each corridor, entrance way, hallway, landing, larder, and pantry has been listed. Every item in each room was listed including the floors, furniture, lighting, linens, ornaments, objects, pictures, and rugs. Leaves seventy to ninety-five list types of items by specific rooms. The headings are as follows: glass & china, electro-plate & cutlery, and sterling silver. There are also tallies with descriptions for jewelry, guns, and linen. The last category in the volume is titled outside effects and includes inventories for the gardens, flower and vegetable houses, sheds, stables, and the garage. The headings in the volume are underlined in red. Some items in the inventory are noted as damaged. Oliver, Kitchen & Flynn is signed on title page. Leaves are typed on the recto only.
