Summary:
Anthological exhibition by Catalan artist Joan Fontcuberta (b. 1955) who within five emblematic series of his work proposes a reflection on the nature of the work of the artist and his strategies of the construction of deception and manipulation of our credibility before the images. Referring in his title to the Pareidolia - the tendency to associate images or sounds to the stimulus produced by a phenomenon or an anonymous, real and everyday presence as, for example, to find the known forms of a face or silhouette of an animal in the clouds or on top of a mountain- the curatorship of this exhibition proposes a critical reflection on the mechanisms of truth, either from the subversion of the informational value of the photographic image or the deconstruction of discourses of power, scientific, historical, cultural or artistic.
