Summary:
After a total renovation, the restoration of 480 archaeological pieces (of gold, other metals, ceramic, stone, wood and textiles) and the implementation of a new museographic scipt, the Gold Museum Nariño was reopened in late 2016. Tumaco, Nariño was the first Pre-Hispanic region of what is now Colombia where gold objects were produced, around 500 B.c.
