Summary:
Juan Manuel Aurrecoechea, a researcher, specializing in the relationship between image, memory and history presents a novel study on the cartoons of the "Mexican barbarities" that John Tinney McCutcheon (b. United States 1870-1949) drew during the Mexican Revolution. The volume brings together more than 70 cartoons by McCutcheon elaborated for the Chicago Tribune for more than a decade, and an exhaustive analysis of the prejudiced perception of Mexico and its inhabitants spread through the American editorial carton. John T. McCutcheon was an influential man who drew political cartoons for the Chicago Tribune for more than sixty years; his influence always reached the front page and was for a long time, one of the ten people who daily defined the editorial terms of the publication.
