Summary:
Sigiriya, the Rock Fortress, looms rising to a height of more than 600 feet over the North Central plains of Sri Lanka. This fortress, built on the Sigiya Rock, was built by Kasyapa (ca. 477 to 495 A.D.), and reflects his aesthetics and taste for sensuous pleasures. Includes views from the summit of the Sigiya Rock. Also shows the remains of the pleasure gardens with gravity-flow springs, the Cloud Maidens immortalized in the pockets of frescoes, and graffiti etched by visitors thousands of years ago on the mirror wall leading to the giant lion's paws.
