- Summary:
- This area of Central Pacific Mexico is full of things to do. Stroll the streets of Old Mazatlan and listen to Sinola Tambora bands that play a unique blend of German and Mexican music styles. You'll find yourself dancing. Catch a ride with a local fisher and head out to Stone Island or Deer Island, where you can dive, snorkel or sun on one of the many sandy beaches. The outlying areas offer more treats: ancient petroglyphs in hidden caves; Teacapan, a vast expanse of mangroves, estuaries and lagoons; the tiny Colonial town of El Quelite; or Concordia, known for its ceramics and wood carvings. Tepic, San Blas and Jaltemba Bay are also in this sunny region, which offers something for every type of traveler.
