Summary:
With Schelling's point , David Rochefort continues his study of a disoriented contemporary generation. His character, Nissim, oscillates between inertia and agitation, hope and despair. Writer by chance, liar by game, traveler by cowardice, his drama is to be unable to choose. At the same time author of a work that ends up devouring him and antihero of his own life, Nissim seeks by all means to fill a void. With Alba, he thinks he has found a dream partner. But this one proves elusive, fleeing, constantly escaping the role he intends to make him play. Whether in Spain, where he lives with a strange duo from Dalí who dreams of Ceausescu, or in Paris, everywhere Nissim seeks to direct his life as one would stage a play. Without making any illusions, he writes to try to save his couple, sinks into the lie. He is reduced to fear of shadows, to confront the specters of his past...Translation of part of page 4 by Gallimard http://www.gallimard.fr/Catalogue/GALLIMARD/Blanche/Le-point-de-Schelling
