Summary:
"The section on Nervous Diseases in this edition has been enlarged by about twenty pages, most of which are distributed in the form of interpolations throughout the text. A new chapter on Psychasthenia has been added, based on the recent formulation of this tolerably distinct symptom-group, to enable its differentiation from neurasthenia. The more recent views in regard to the motor area of the Rolandic region have necessitated the remodeling of the chapter pertaining to the related subjects, and new diagrams. A few new illustrations have been added, and one or two withdrawn. It has not been deemed wise to follow the somewhat radical, but still hypothetical, ideas that have gained a certain currency in relation to the subjects of aphasia and hysteria. In the section on Mental Diseases, the matter has been carefully revised throughout, and a new article on Psychotherapy has been added"--Book.
