- Summary:
- The point of time in which this subject of enquiry has been submitted, is beyond comparison the most' important to the future interests of its inhabitants, of any that has occurred since Canada came under the dominion of the British Crown. Some measures of a decisive character must, of necessity, be proposed in England, in consequence of recent events in this and the Lower Province; and upon the nature of those measures it depends whether Upper Canada is to be retained as a portion of the British Dominions, and whether its inhabitants can look forward with confidence to a continuance of' peace, and to the preservation of their present form of Government.
