- Summary:
- Health Issues in Chinese Contexts Volume 4 is the fourth of sequential collections of the observations and applications on various health related topics. Most of the contributors of this book are front line health care providers who have rich practical experience or know the health care needs of citizens and health care services well. There are a total of 17 chapters showing some under-discussed health issues both in the Chinese and in the Western contexts. The contents of this book include: sexual issues of clients with mental retardation, images of patients in movies and television, anorexia nervosa and family therapy, health care service and social work practice for anorexia nervosa, oral health, health inspectorate officer's views on her work area, occupational therapist's reflection on his professional development and health needs of his clients, theology and social work. Also presented are various health care programs such as responsible sex for adolescents, oral health for elderly in a community setting, physical activity for children, healthy bowel habit for children, smoke-free for teenagers, family harmony, and ideal body image for children. Finally, nursing research towards sleep hygiene has been discussed. The aim of this book is to reveal many hidden but important health issues for discussion on future health service development, health care practice and inclusion of the significance front-line health providers' experience and voices for the benefits of mankind in health care settings.
