- Summary:
- This volume contains the proceedings of the 17th annual International Symposium on High Performance Systems and Applications (HPCS 2003), held at the Delta Hotel in Sherbrooke (Quebec) Canada, from May 11 to May 14 2003. The symposium covers various areas of High-Performance Computing, from specific scientific applications to computer architecture. This year, the HPC symposium joins with the first OSCAR symposium, and this gives this year s edition a special clustering flavor. OSCAR is an Open Source clustering software suite for building, maintaining, and using high performance clusters. This volume is divided into three parts: (I) Various applications of HPC, from Mathematics to Engineering, with a special emphasis on Condensed Matter Physics and Chemistry. (II) Systems papers, covering computer architectures, grids, networking and scheduling. (III) OSCAR papers, covering building, installation and maintenance of computer clusters. Finally, two tutorials close the volume. Additional contributions to the symposium could not be included in this volume, for lack of time."
