- This code provides practical recommendations for assessing, controlling and eliminating hazardous ambient factors in the workplace. It gives guidance on the roles and obligations of competent authorities and the responsibilities, duties and rights of employers, workers and others involved in preventing illness and injury among the workforce. The hazards include ionizing radiation, electric and magnetic fields, optical radiation, as well as noise, vibration, thermal conditions and humidity. It also focusses on education and training programmes to ensure workers receive relevant and up to date information on their working conditions.
