Kants Grundlegung zur Metaphysik der Sitten aus dem Jahr 1785 stellt einen der wichtigsten und einflussreichsten Texte der gesamten Philosophiegeschichte dar. Zentrale Aufgabe der Grundlegung ist die Entwicklung und Begründung eines Moralprinzips; Kant erfüllt diese Aufgabe mit seiner berühmten Lehre vom Kategorischen Imperativ. Auch für professionelle Ethiker der Gegenwart enthält der Text zahlreiche Anknüpfungs- und Abstoßungspunkte.
