Summary:
To what extent is hunger still the subject of discussion and articulated in the field of health? What forms of understanding on the subject have historically prevailed? These are just some of the questions that Rosana Magalhães seeks to answer, analyzing the work of Josué de Castro. Thus, this book is contextualized in the 80s and 90s, when hunger is seen as a political and citizenship problem, demanding consensus and cooperation between the State and civil society. The author is also careful to point out that her interpretation is not the one that holds the absolute truth, inviting interested parties to the debate on "a remarkable thought in the study of hunger, both in the national and international scenario.
