Summary:

It discusses the crucial aspects of health studies in our country, with a refined treatment not only of the scientific, philosophical, ethical and political aspects involved in medical practices. Also the theories and research in this field from the perspective of different fields of knowledge, among which are the anthropology of scientific knowledge, the philosophy of mind and technobiosciences. Adopting a transdisciplinary perspective, the author makes us face the fact that the unmistakable technological advances in diagnoses and therapies - of which we are often proud - are accompanied by serious signs of crisis, both ethical, political and philosophical, which we cannot disdain and that concern the theoretical and epistemological models of biomedical and epidemiological sciences.
