- Readers and researchers are presented with a collective monograph "Communicating Culture: Institutions, Strategies, Audiences" written on the basis of Vytautas Magnus University's research project "Development of Communication Competences of Cultural Institutions in the Context of Knowledge and Creative Society" in 2012-2015. . Cultural institutions operating in Kaunas, Šiauliai, Klaipėda cities and districts. The research consists of theoretical studies and their critical development, case studies, quantitative and qualitative data. The authors of the monograph seek to reveal the theoretical links between communication action and cultural and creative industries, show their contradictions and conflicts and, based on the research, critically describe the development of communication competencies of cultural institutions in Lithuania over the past five years. The monograph discusses the relationship between communication action, communication mind and communication field with the modern development of creative industries, explains the contradictions of creative class formation and their relationship with organisational communication, examines and compares the field of communication and meanings and symbols of cultural institutions and related structures politically and institutionally. , critically discusses the specifics, functions, forms, communication competencies of communication in cultural organisations, as well as discusses the activity of virtual space and the use of new media in the communication activities of cultural institutions.
