Summary:
The work is the result of a thesis defended in the Postgraduate Program in Performing Arts at UFBA, in 2007. It addresses issues related to theatre amidst the countercultural ideals, investing its arguments against the claim that the theatrical production that takes place from 1968 to 1974 is devoid of criticality. Proposing another point of view, the book presents and analyses theatrical production to affirm that there was no "cultural vacuum" during the period when the civil-military government was in power and used censorship and repression to silence the artists.
