Summary:

This book, from the provocative choice of the title Staying in school: a hole in affection, seeks to decipher the phenomenon of staying in the space of three state schools in the state of Bahia, enabling a new look at the affective relationships of adolescents at school, which disturb parents , teachers and scholars. The work is the result of research with fieldwork, resulting from semi-structured interviews, listening to adolescents' speeches, observation of their behaviours, and analysis of their drawings, building a rigorous work of interpretation and analysis of the collected material. Staying in this book can be seen as a symptom of contemporaneity, a new way of adolescence and learning to make choices. The author also reveals that the theme staying can be a disciplinary pedagogical content to be worked on, in the sense that the curricular components contemplate the values ​​of commitment, depth, stability, tolerance, pleasure, responsibility, bonds, taste for studies, in search for the construction of an affective subject that values ​​men and women in their subjectivity and uniqueness.
