- This book, from the provocative choice of the title Staying in school: a hole in affection, seeks to decipher the phenomenon of staying in the space of three state schools in the state of Bahia, enabling a new look at the affective relationships of adolescents at school, which disturb parents , teachers and scholars. The work is the result of research with fieldwork, resulting from semi-structured interviews, listening to adolescents' speeches, observation of their behaviours, and analysis of their drawings, building a rigorous work of interpretation and analysis of the collected material. Staying in this book can be seen as a symptom of contemporaneity, a new way of adolescence and learning to make choices. The author also reveals that the theme staying can be a disciplinary pedagogical content to be worked on, in the sense that the curricular components contemplate the values of commitment, depth, stability, tolerance, pleasure, responsibility, bonds, taste for studies, in search for the construction of an affective subject that values men and women in their subjectivity and uniqueness.
