Comparative study of police coverage made by the newspapers A Tarde, Correio da Bahia and Tribuna da Bahia, analysing the production and social reproduction of violence in everyday life in Bahia. It shows the hierarchy within the affairs of the media and discusses the role of journalistic companies and journalism professionals in society. It also reveals the atmosphere of a city still divided between big houses and slave quarters that the author calls bubbles and openings.
