Explains ecological, economical, and social concerns; and discusses Asian carp movement from the Mississippi River drainage into the Great Lakes through the Chicago Area Waterway System. Reviews Federal efforts to control Asian carp, related litigation, Canadian concerns, and enacted and proposed legislation in the 112th and 113th Congresses to improve control of these species.
